All About One Month Into My TreatmentAugust 6, 2013

Hello Friends-Quick update.

I have steadily improved since arriving at Shea Medical about a month ago. I was unable to walk (beyond a couple of steps) and I have been up and walking for about the last 10 days. I only go between the clinic and the house but that is a big improvement. Jenny is in charge of me this week, Aaron just left, Dad was here the week before ,Stephanie was here the first week, and Mom got me settled in and through my day surgery.

My pain levels are so low I actually feel like myself. In comparison to all that was lost, sometimes it is hard to see the small improvements as significant. But NOT being in a wheelchair is huge. I have been working on a blog post that explains more of what goes on over the last 2 weeks, but I just wanted you all to know that I’m steadily improving. Not being in pain for the first time in 7 years is amazing.

People with Lyme’s have good days and bad, good weeks and horrible weeks, so I have no idea what the future hold. I do know that without serious treatment I would have had no future. Thank you everyone for helping Aaron and our families take care of the kids, knowing that they are fed and cared for is a great comfort to me, and affords me the peace that I need to heal.

I’m not at a place emotionally where I want to talk on the phone, I just don’t have the strength at his point. I recognize this “avoidance” as part of the grieving process, and will write more about it when I am able. For now, Thank you all for being amazing and loving on my kiddos. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity to heal and we couldn’t do it without so much help.
